Description
Gold and silver are diamagnetic, while tungsten and several dense counterfeit materials are paramagnetic. MagneticScreenScale measures this small difference as a change in apparent weight and can inspect many objects without removing capsules or blister packs.
Best for
Gold and silver coins or bars up to 250 g, including sealed objects
Measurement method
Precision magnetic-force and differential-weight measurement
Important limitation
Magnetism is one part of an authentication workflow. Jewellery alloys and deeply concealed or compensated cores can produce ambiguous results; combine with weight, dimensions or conductivity.
Highlights
- Detects paramagnetic tungsten beneath precious-metal surfaces
- Approx. 3 mm penetration in gold and silver
- Measures objects up to 250 g
- Works through thin foils, capsules and blisters
Scope of delivery
- MagneticScreenScale
- Reference object
- Small auxiliary magnet
- Anti-static spray
- Aluminium carrying case
- Instruction manual
